Anna’s Charleston Senior Photos at Rainbow Row, Hampton Park & Folly Beach

Anna’s senior session was years in the making! Anna traveled all the way from Boston for her senior photos, but this wasn’t just a destination session. Charleston has been part of her family’s story for years, filled with vacations, memories, and meaningful moments along the coast. So when it came time to plan her senior portraits, there was no question…Charleston was the place.

From the very beginning, this session felt special. Anna actually found me last August after seeing a similar Charleston senior session, and she knew immediately this was the experience she wanted. We began planning right away, dreaming up a session that felt personal, timeless, and true to her. And somehow, it exceeded even that vision.

We started Anna’s senior session at Rainbow Row, one of the most iconic spots for senior photos in Charleston. The soft pastel homes, historic charm, and glowing evening light created the perfect backdrop for the start of her session. This location always brings that classic Charleston feel, and for Anna, it tied beautifully into the nostalgia of all the time she’s spent here over the years.

From there, we made our way to Hampton Park, where the azaleas added the dreamiest pop of color. Spring in Charleston is truly unmatched, and Hampton Park is one of my favorite locations for seniors who want that soft, romantic, garden-inspired look. The greenery, the florals, the light filtering through the Spanish moss…it all came together in a way that felt fresh, joyful, and full of life.

We ended the evening at Folly Beach, just as the sun began to dip lower in the sky. There’s something about the coast at golden hour that feels a little bit magical, and for Anna, it was the perfect way to close out her session. The breeze, the soft light, and the sound of the ocean all created such a natural, effortless environment for her to just be, which is exactly what I want for every senior I photograph.

Anna’s session is the perfect example of why I love destination senior sessions so much. When you choose a location that already means something to you, your photos become more than just beautiful images…they become part of your story. Whether it’s a place you’ve grown up visiting, a city you love, or somewhere you’ve always dreamed of going, your senior session should feel like you. And Charleston just has a special way of bringing that story to life.
