Girls Weekend in Charleston with Caroline and Addie
48 Hour Guide to Charleston, SC!
Y’all, last weekend was just simply the best! If you follow me on Instagram, you know that two of my sweet friends came to visit for a fun girls weekend! My favorite part of it all? It was pretty spontaneous! We didn’t have this trip planned for long, but I knew exactly how to make sure Caroline and Addie got to experience the pure magic and charm of Charleston in just two days. Neither of them had been to Charleston, so I wanted to make sure I jam packed as much as we could into our weekend!
Caroline and Addie arrived late Friday night, and left veryyyy early Monday morning. So, we had two full days of exploring. It ended up being truly the perfect weekend. One of the many things I love about Charleston is there is simply SO much to do at all times. Another thing I love is how walkable downtown is. We were able to fit in so much, even with a short amount of time. There are tons of amazing places to explore in this incredible city, and I think I did a pretty good job of giving Caroline and Addie a good taste of Charleston! 😊
Let’s jump right in!
First stop, Kudu Coffee! A cute coffee & craft beer spot conveniently located right off of King Street. I’ve been here several times, and really enjoy everything about this spot!I knew I wanted to take the girls to the Charleston Farmers Market, so this was our first stop after grabbing coffee. We couldn’t pass up getting a bouquet of flowers from Sweet Jessamine Flower Truck! Then it was time to shop until we dropped! We covered pretty much all of King Street. Sooo many amazing stores to shop in!We took a break at my favorite lunch spot, Basic Kitchen! Every single thing on their menu is truly chef’s kiss. We all opted for the Naughty Burger with Sweet Potato Fries and shared a side of Cauliflower Wings. YUM!
After more shopping, it was time for another stop for a refreshing pick-me-up drink. Sorelle did just the trick! This was my first time here, and I’ll for sure be back!
The Jasmine was in full bloom for us, and smelling spectacular!<3 these girls!A walk along the battery was a must! You can’t beat it.
Obsessed with these florals!
After a full day of shopping and walking around Charleston, we went to By The Way, a fun restaurant and bar off of King Street. For my Southern Charm fans, Craig Conover, and Austen Kroll are the owners! Pictured is the Brown Butter Crab Crostini we shared as an app…it was SO delicious. We each had a yummy salad for dinner, but forgot to take a pic. This place is a vibe, and I’ll be back!
Before heading home for the night, we stopped at Ritual. The views here are amazing, and the decor is just so pretty!
Sunday morning, we grabbed coffee at Cafe Roca, a cute new spot in West Ashley with great coffee! After grabbing coffee, we headed to Magnolia Plantation & Gardens. It worked out perfectly that I needed to make a stop here to scout out the grounds for a very exciting session I had coming up, and we were all able to experience the beauty together!
I can’t even with how pretty it is!For lunch, we went to Zachary’s Daiquiris, a super cute new spot on King Street! The food was really good, and the vibes were tons of fun.Inside Zachary’s Daiquiris is a beautiful gift shop, Rebecca and Lu. Truly obsessed!
We poked into a couple of stores along the way back down King Street, including Candlefish, a Charleston staple.
Of course I had to show the girls the iconic Pineapple Fountain!
We then explored Rainbow Row!
And the surrounding streets! So. Much. Charm.
We didn’t have plans for dinner, and actually had a different spot in mind that we passed by on Saturday, but after having the crab app at By The Way, we were craving seafood. I had been to The Darling Oyster Bar once before and loveddddd it, so I knew brining the girls here would be a great option! All of the tables were booked for the evening, but we were able to snag a spot at the raw bar which ended up being perfect.
Pictured here is the Baked Crab Dip, Lobster Roll, and Maitre’d Butter & Bread Crumbs Baked Oysters. We went family style, and shared all of these. I loveeee seafood, but never had an oyster before. Well, this was my first oyster, and let’s just say it won’t be my last!
To end the night, and the amazing trip, was a stop at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams…a MUST! All of their ice cream is so stinking good! I opted for one scoop of Double Dough and one scoop of Gooey Butter Cake…delish!
