Makenzie’s Rainbow Row & Hampton Park Senior Portraits in Charleston, South Carolina

Some sessions feel a little extra exciting before you even pick up your camera, and Makenzie’s was absolutely one of those. After booking her Charleston senior session several months ago, I had been looking forward to this one for a long time, so getting to finally meet her and bring everything we had been planning to life felt pretty special! Makenzie traveled all the way from Alabama to Charleston just for her senior portraits, and she came ready to make them anything but ordinary. With three beautiful outfits and a vision for photos that felt unique to her, we had so much fun exploring two completely different sides of the city. Rainbow Row gave us colorful Charleston architecture and that unmistakable downtown charm, while Hampton Park brought in greenery, Spanish moss, beautiful florals, and a softer side of the Lowcountry.

I love how much variety we were able to create throughout her session while still having everything feel cohesive. Each outfit brought something different to the story, and Makenzie made every one of them her own. From the colorful streets of downtown Charleston to the gardens of Hampton Park, there was always something new around the corner. More than anything, I’m grateful for the opportunity to photograph seniors who are willing to make a trip to Charleston just for this experience. Getting to meet Makenzie after looking forward to her session for so long, explore the city together, and create portraits that felt completely true to her was such a fun way to close out my summer senior season.

Makenzie, thank you so much for making the trip from Alabama, for trusting me with this experience, and for bringing so much excitement and joy to our time together. I hope your gallery feels every bit as special as this session was to me! xo
